In the core fields of medicine, electronics, scientific research, and industry, distilled water, as the core carrier of high-purity water, its purity standard directly determines production accuracy, product quality, and experimental reliability. The strict requirements for water quality in different industries have spawned a diversified system of distilled water standards. With clear index definitions, various standards accurately adapt to different application scenarios and provide solid guarantee for the high-quality development of various industries. The core value of distilled water lies in removing impurities, ions, microorganisms and other pollutants in water through vaporization and condensation processes. Different standards have significant differences in key indicators such as conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), sterility, and pyrogen control, corresponding to different application scenarios and industry needs.

Industrial-grade distilled water (Grade 3 standard), with GB/T 6682 Grade 3 and ASTM D1193 Type III as the core specifications, has a conductivity of ≤5 μS/cm (25℃) and TDS <5 mg/L, allowing a small amount of ions and trace organic substances. It is the most widely used basic-level distilled water with the most cost-effective advantage. Its core applications focus on the basic links of industrial production, including low-pressure boiler water replenishment, industrial cooling circulation systems, lead-acid battery water replenishment, as well as rough cleaning of glassware, ordinary cleaning and other scenarios. It can also be used as supplementary water for daily industrial equipment such as humidifiers and steam irons. The advantages of this standard distilled water are large output, simple equipment requirements, low cost, and it can meet the core needs of industrial basic water use; the disadvantage is that the purity is limited, which cannot be adapted to precision production and high-end experimental scenarios, and trace impurities may cause equipment scaling and affect the stability of basic processes.
